I've been photographing properties since 2003. That's over 23 years of egos, cushions, throws and explaining why moving something three inches to the left actually matters.
I create natural, magazine-style photographs that make people want to visit, book or, at the very least, have a good look around your website... because that's rather the point, isn't it?

People don't book a holiday cottage because they're desperate to look at photographs of a bed. They book because they can imagine themselves there.
Your photographs need to sell that feeling, not simply confirm that the property contains furniture.
I use natural light, thoughtful composition and an eye for interiors to show your property at its best. No unnecessary fuss, no hard sell and no cushions arranged with military precision.

Things I try to avoid
Rooms so yellow they look as though they've been marinating in custard. Lamps glowing like they're about to explode. Walls leaning at improbable angles. Waste bins trying to hide. The photographer making an unexpected appearance in the bathroom mirror. You'd be surprised.

I prefer natural colour, balanced lighting, straight walls and carefully considered composition. Nothing revolutionary. Just photography that does your property justice.
I still think the photographer should notice these things before the client does.

A camera doesn't make you a photographer
Your friend has a camera. Your mother has a camera. Your sibling, wife, husband, cat or lover has a camera. And they'll happily photograph your property for a fraction of the price...lovely!
Of course, owning a set of kitchen knives doesn't automatically make you a chef, either.
 
I don't have multiple awards or certificates from the University of BS but merely a photography O Level and years and years of experience. I know there's rather more to photographing a property than pointing a camera at a room and pressing a button. Light, composition, colour, perspective and an eye for detail all matter. So does knowing what not to include.
Cheap photography can be expensive if it makes a lovely property look distinctly less lovely.

I understand how to make the most of light, space and styling, with professional styling available where required. Moving a vase is very much within my capabilities.

How much?
Rates from £350 plus travel (usually 55p/mile). The cost depends on the property and what you need photographed.
​
Is £350 a lot? Well, it might buy a weekend away, a few decent meals or a regrettable round of drinks.
Good photographs, on the other hand, can promote your property for years — on your website, booking platforms and social media, helping persuade people to book long after I've packed my cameras away.
One disappears by Monday. The other keeps working.
Seems a fairly sensible investment to me.
